For any hire 1 day or more, we offer 150 free miles per day. Any excess miles will be charged £.15+vat per mile.

Livestock, including domestic animals, are not permitted in the vans. A cleaning charge could be applicable if it is discovered that an animal has been transported in the vehicle.  

We are open Monday- Friday 08:30-17:00 and Saturday from 09:00-16:00

We kindly ask that you do not smoke in any of Portman’s vehicles, otherwise a charge is applicable. 

Certainly, just let us know if you’ve forgotten something in the vehicle and we will hold it safe for you until you can retrieve it. 

Park the vehicle within our yard and come in to our showroom, where someone will go over the fuel with you and get you checked in. 

That is up to you!We will provide you with a full tank when you leave. You can return the vehicle full, or return it to us where we can fill it up. Please note all of our vans run on diesel and will be charged £1.45 + VAT per litre if we fill it up. The nearest petrol station is BP and can be found at 675 Paisley Road West. If you have used less than a litre of fuel, you will not be charged.  

All of our hire vehicles have emergency breakdown cover so should you breakdown, the best option is to call us on 0141 429 6701 during opening hours or 0330-202-3000 for the breakdown company if out of hours. We will then organise the best solution for you. Please have your exact location and a mobile telephone number available to aid any breakdown assistance. 

**Assistance may be chargeable if found to be driver error. 

No, unfortunately we only offer the van for hire.

LWB

Wheelbase is the distance between the centres of the front and rear wheels. Long wheelbase usually means a bigger van with more carrying capacity. LWB vehicles may carry driving license or age restrictions. Considered a Large or Box van from Portman’s

Short Wheelbase

Short wheelbase vans are usually smaller and can be driven with a standard driving license. Considered a Medium van from Portman’s
